General Domain Questions

Hi, in February i’m going to start building a website as a project/experiment to see how affiliate marketing works and to generate a little extra cash in the process.  My dilema is in the choosing of the domain name.  The site is going to be a blog/magazine style site all to do with clothing and fashion with an emphasis on products/brands, hence the affiliate marketing aspect.  My question is whatever domain name i choose would you recommend i add blog or magazine on the end?, or neither.  I quite like the idea of having blog on the end as its clear and concise and says exactly what it is.  eg.  www. celebrityfashion blog.com or celebfashion mag.com

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Nick

I don’t know if it’s good for SEO, but I do think it’s a good keyword for people to assume there is a level of expertise.

I think it’s ok as long as the words in front of it are good keywords. If you can get the keywords without blog or mag, that would be better. More important, make sure you pick a .com domain name. Chances are if your budget is low you’ll have a hard time finding strong keywords in .com, but you might find something that works with blog on the end. Just make sure the first keyword(s) in front of blog are good ones and are easy to tell someone, like TopFashionBlog.com or BestFashionBlog.com. I would use ‘blog’ instead of ‘mag’ or ‘magazine’. Other good choices for the end are ‘zone’ ‘world’ ‘space’. Good luck!
