Has anyone ever experienced Sedo buying a name out from a site user who is bidding on it? I think I may have just experienced this.

I was in negotiations for a name on Sedo.  Then all of the sudden the name goes up nearly 400% and the registered owner is Sedo (who was not the owner at the start of negotiations).

Can you share the name and I will see? If it sold, there’s a chance it’s in Sedo’s escrow account, although that most likely says it’s the escrow account.

It has been about 7 days, so wouldn’t the real owner show up on Whois by now? Whois shows:

      Registrant:
      Sedo LLC
      161 First St, 4 Floor
      Cambridge, MA 02142
      US

      BUT, email associated is transferservice@sedo.com

I would say it’s most likely that the name sold and is now in escrow. Is it still listed for sale on Sedo? If not, it’s almost certainly sold. If it is, you might want to call Sedo to investigate.

        Has the Whois changed yet?
