42 Day Hold on Enom Pending Delete Namejet Auction Win?

I bid at Namejet on behalf of a client recently. We won the auction, the domain is at Enom, but now I go to find out I can’t even PUSH the domain to another account for 42 days! For the life of me I can’t imagine what purpose this could serve. Can you?

Thanks Elliot I just read the article and comments. My question should have called it a pre-release, not a pending delete. I have another Q into support asking specifically if it’s true that the former registrant could STILL come back to claim the domain within the 42 day period.

    Question is really…

And there you go! This is insane!
“The former registrant could possibly petition to recover the domain name, but such cases are extremely rare, and you would be notified if this was to occur.”
